Traveling to Europe has taught me….

1) I grew up in a country that thinks it’s the center of the universe. I’ve only traveled within the US with the exception of going to Mexico and Nicaragua but going to a European country was a whole other animal. It’s humbled me tremendously.

2) Only knowing one language is no longer acceptable.

3) Friendships can still be developed despite a language barrier.

4) Skype is the best invention ever.

5) The vast majority of our Swiss/German and Swiss/Italian audience was very reserved. Quite different than audiences in the US. You have to adjust your ideas of how an audience appreciates your art when rowdy applause isn’t necessarily a part of their culture.

6) I loved traveling with my friends, but I learned that I need to have private time for myself as well in order to not be a pain in the ass to everyone else.

7) Do not take an Ambien on a 9 hour flight. It’s not normal to not pee for that long and you will get sick.

8) Sometimes your hard earned dollar is really a hard earned $.80 when you cross the pond. Losing $.20 of every dollar adds up quick.

9) 2nd Lining through a small town in your underwear is a must do.

10) I can’t wait to do it all over again.
